InspireU

InspireU is a series of residential camps for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Years 11 and 12. The camps focus on a variety of disciplines including Engineering, Health Sciences, Law and Science.

                                      

 

InspireU is a series of residential camps for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Years 9, 10, 11 and 12. The camps focus on a variety of disciplines including Engineering, Health Sciences,  Business, Law and Science. 

Students stay on campus in one of our great colleges and take part in a range of activities designed to provide a practical insight into university study in their chosen field. The camps are an opportunity for students to experience university life, participate in workshops and lectures on campus and explore different disciplines and career opportunities.  

Who is eligible?

InspireU camps are for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander secondary school students in Years 11 and 12. However, students in Years 9 and 10 can apply for the Junior STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) camp.

How do I apply?

To apply students will need to complete the application form and have written support from their school. Students will be selected based on their interest the discipline area and involvement in related school subjects.

InspireU Engineering – January 15-20, 2017 (Applications now open & close 11th November, 2016)

InspireU Junior STEM (Year 9 - 10) - July 3-7, 2017 (Applications open 18th April, 2017)

InspireU Business and Law - April 8-13, 2017 (Applications open 31st January, 2017)

InspireU Health Sciences – June 25 - June 30, 2017 (Applications open 18th April, 2017)

UQ College - Tertiary Preparation Program

UQ College, located at St Lucia Campus, provides pathway programs for students to enable entry to higher education as well as direct entry into tertiary studies and degrees. The Tertiary Preparation Program has been designed to develop students to a year 12 equivalent level and is targeted to students who may need additional academic development, a new start or an opportunity to improve their career and/or personal position.

UQ Young Achievers Program

The Program aims to build the tertiary aspirations of deserving secondary school students who might not otherwise have considered university as a post-school option.

Who is eligible?
Year 10 secondary school students

Nominations must be completed and endorsed by the School Principal in consultation with the student and the student's parents/guardians.

UQ Young Scholars Program

The Program provides high achieving secondary school students with an opportunity to discover, learn and engage with UQ's academic community and like-minded students from across Queensland and New South Wales.

Who is eligible?
 High achieving secondary school students.
How do I apply?
Applicants are required to complete an online application form and submit appropriate supporting documentation by post.  Before applying, students should read the YSP Application Guidelines.
